UGM Sambut Kunjungan LPPM UNESA: Tingkatkan Kinerja Penelitian melalui Kolaborasi

Direktorat Penelitian UGM menerima kunjungan dari LPPM Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) pada Jumat, 23 Oktober 2023 di ruang Multimedia II Gedung Pusat UGM. 

Direktur Penelitian UGM, Prof. Dr. Mirwan Ushada, STP. M.App.Life.Sc., didampingi Kepala Subdirektorat Program Penelitian, Dr. Ririn Tri Nurhayati, S.IP., M.Si., M.A., Kepala Subdirektorat Publikasi dan Kekayaan Intelektual, Ratih Fitria Putri, S.Si., .M.Sc., PhD., serta  7 koordinator bidang program, menyambut baik rombongan dari LPPM UGM sebanyak 20 orang. 

Direktur LPPM UNESA, Prof. Dr. H. Muhammad Turhan Yani, M.A., dalam kesempatan ini menyampaikan terima kasih atas sambutan baik UGM. UNESA merupakan anggota baru  PTN-BH sehingga melalui kunjungan ini bermaksud untuk mempelajari manajemen pengelolaan kegiatan penelitian di UGM agar dapat mengikuti jejak-jejak kemajuan dan keunggulan penelitian UGM. UNESA berharap dapat mempelajari strategi penelitian baik internal maupun eksternal serta mempelajari tingkat kompetisi program penelitian di UGM. 

Sebagaimana disampaikan oleh Prof. Dr. Mirwan Ushada, STP. M.App.Life.Sc.., bahwa relasi antara UGM dengan UNESA bukan merupakan relasi hierarki, tetapi merupakan relasi kolaborasi. Kolaborasi menjadi kata kunci dalam meningkatkan kinerja penelitian di UGM. Kemajuan dan keunggulan tidak bisa dicapai sendiri, tetapi harus bersinergi dan terintegrasi dengan berbagai pihak baik internal maupun eksternal. Dewasa ini, Direktorat Penelitian UGM didukung Biro Transformasi Digital UGM sedang mengembangkan e-service penelitian berbasis intelegensi artifisial. Di samping itu, untuk menjembatani kesenjangan antara akademisi dengan dunia industri, Direktorat Penelitian juga berkolaborasi dengan Innovation Project Management (IPM) Direktorat Pengembangan Usaha UGM. 

Kunjungan yang berlangsung pada 8:30–10:30 WIB tersebut menciptakan diskusi  yang baik antara UGM dan UNESA. Tentunya, kunjungan semacam ini akan semakin mempererat hubungan antara UGM dengan UNESA serta memperkuat forum LPPM PTN-BH yang ada di Indonesia.

Penyerahan Dokumen dan Peluncuran Peraturan Bupati Sleman Nomor 62 Tahun 2023 tentang Pengembangan Pertanian Organik Berbasis Kawasan

Tim peneliti UGM selama beberapa tahun terakhir berkomitmen untuk mewujudkan pertanian organik yang berkelanjutan dengan menjalin kerja sama riset dengan Dinas Pertanian Kabupaten Sleman yang bertema “Model Tata Kelola Pertanian Berkelanjutan dalam Mendukung Ketersediaan Pangan Sehat dan Kesejahteraan Petani melalui Pengembangan Usaha Tani Organik Berbasis Kawasan”, didanai oleh RISPRO (Riset Inovatif Produktif), LPDP (Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan) Kementerian Keuangan RI. Tema riset ini sejalan dengan kebijakan Pemerintah Kabupaten Sleman melalui Dinas Pertanian, Pangan, dan Perikanan, yakni Pengembangan Produksi Pangan Sehat.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penyediaan pangan yang sehat, mengingat penggunaan pestisida kimia yang digunakan petani masih cukup masif sehingga membahayakan kesehatan masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai pengembangan pertanian organik sebagai solusi untuk meningkatkan kualitas lahan dan lingkungan serta meningkatkan kesejahteraan petani melalui peningkatan produksi pangan, efisiensi usaha, dan kenaikan harga pangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertanian organik lebih produktif dan efisien dalam jangka panjang dibandingkan pertanian konvensional.

Namun, pertanian organik juga memiliki suatu masalah, yakni tidak tersedianya data usaha tani sebagai dasar pengambilan keputusan usaha tani yang perlu diselesaikan dengan solusi komprehensif. Berkaitan dengan masalah tersebut, tim riset telah melakukan evaluasi penerapan sistem pertanian organik hingga mendesain penerapan teknologi informasi digital berupa aplikasi pencatatan usaha tani (farm record) untuk membantu kebutuhan administrasi dan meningkatkan kemampuan manajerial petani. Aplikasi tersebut berbasis smartphone yang diberi nama REKTANIGAMA (Rekam Usaha Tani Gadjah Mada). Dengan REKTANIGAMA, petani akan bisa memantau seluruh kegiatan usaha taninya dari waktu ke waktu melalui handphone.

Upaya ini belum sepenuhnya dapat mewujudkan pertanian organik yang berkelanjutan karena ketiadaan zona khusus pertanian organik yang didukung oleh regulasi pemerintah, serta ketiadaan penerapan sistem data usaha tani yang aktual, faktual, dan valid. Selain itu, juga belum tersedia model tata kelola pengembangan kawasan pertanian organik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa hal ini menurunkan efisiensi usaha tani dan meningkatkan biaya sertifikasi. Atas dasar fakta ini, upaya penetapan kawasan pertanian organik menjadi mendesak untuk dilakukan. Hasil diskusi intensif dengan Dinas Pertanian, Pangan, dan Perikanan Kabupaten Sleman mengonfirmasi keperluan suatu skema regulasi sebagai dasar pembentukan sekaligus payung hukum dalam penetapan kawasan pertanian organik di Kabupaten Sleman. Peraturan Bupati Sleman Nomor 62 Tahun 2023 ini merupakan bagian dari kegiatan riset RISPRO (Riset Inovatif Produktif) yang dimaksud.

Pada riset RISPRO ini, fokus kegiatan di antaranya adalah penyusunan naskah kajian akademik sebagai dasar penyusunan rancangan Peraturan Bupati (Perbup), penyusunan rancangan peraturan bupati, serta penyusunan model tata kelola pertanian organik berbasis kawasan sebagaimana diusulkan. Cakupan komoditas adalah tanaman pangan, termasuk hortikultura. Dalam jangka panjang, kegiatan ini membutuhkan aktivitas tindak lanjut secara serius dan dikawal dengan cermat agar tujuan besar tercapai, yaitu kesejahteraan petani.

Dengan ditetapkannya kawasan pertanian organik yang ditopang oleh kebijakan dan regulasi yang tepat, diharapkan sistem pertanian organik di Kabupaten Sleman bisa mencapai efisiensi yang tinggi secara ekonomis. Terlebih lagi, regulasi ini dipadukan dengan sistem pencatatan usaha tani berbasis teknologi informasi sehingga persoalan kepastian usaha tani menjadi lebih terjamin dan ketersediaan pangan sehat bisa dilakukan secara berkelanjutan.

Seremonial penyerahan dan peluncuran Peraturan Bupati Sleman tentang Pengembangan Pertanian Organik Berbasis Kawasan dilakukan di Balairung, Gedung Rektorat UGM pada 18 Oktober 2023 sebagai ikhtiar untuk menyosialisasikan Perbup tersebut. Diharapkan melalui peraturan bupati ini, pertanian organik di Kabupaten Sleman dapat dikembangkan untuk meningkatnya kesejahteraan petani di Kabupaten Sleman. Diharapkan pula capaian ini dapat menginspirasi daerah lain untuk terus bersemangat menggiatkan pertanian organik berbasis kawasan.

Lima Peneliti UGM Masuk dalam Top 2% World Ranking Scientist by Stanford University 2023

Stanford University merilis daftar peneliti paling berpengaruh pada tahun 2023. Di dalam daftar tersebut terdapat lima peneliti dari Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) yang masuk dalam Top 2% World Ranking Scientist. Daftar 2% peneliti paling berpengaruh di dunia ini diterbitkan oleh Prof. John Ioannidis dari Stanford University bersama dengan Jeroen Baas dan Kevin Boyack pada Oktober 2023. Daftar ini mencakup lebih dari 100.000 ilmuwan dengan karya-karya yang sering dikutip oleh kolega peneliti lain sehingga menjadikan mereka sebagai peneliti yang sangat berpengaruh di dunia.

Jumlah peneliti dan dosen UGM yang masuk dalam daftar Top 2% World Ranking Scientist mengalami peningkatan sebanyak dua orang dari tahun 2021 yang sebelumnya berjumlah tiga orang. Peningkatan ini membuktikan bahwa kualitas peneliti UGM mampu bersaing di panggung internasional.

Peneliti UGM yang sebelumnya juga sudah pernah masuk dalam daftar Top 2% World Ranking Scientist by Stanford University, yaitu: 1) Prof. Dr. Abdul Rohman, S.F., M.Si., Apt. dari Fakultas Farmasi yang memiliki h-index 34 dan 357 judul publikasi yang telah diterbitkan; 2) Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Muh Aris Marfai, S.Si., M.Sc. dari Fakultas Geografi yang memiliki h-index  18 dan 107 judul publikasi yang telah diterbitkan; serta 3) Prof. Dr. Ahmad Maryudi, S.Hut., M.For. dari Fakultas Kehutanan yang memiliki h-index 25 dan 76 judul publikasi yang telah diterbitkan.

Pada daftar prestisius terbaru yang dirilis Stanford University ini, dua nama baru dari UGM berhasil masuk dalam Top 2% World Ranking Scientist tahun 2023, yaitu 1) Prof. Drs. Sri Juari Santosa, M.Eng., Ph.D. dari Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dengan h-index 18 dan 133 judul publikasi yang telah diterbitkan; serta 2) Prof. Dra. Wega Trisunaryanti, M.S., Ph.D.,Eng. dari Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dengan h-index 16 dan 127 judul publikasi yang telah diterbitkan. Kepada lima peneliti tersebut, Direktorat Penelitian UGM mengucapkan selamat atas pencapaian yang membanggakan ini sehingga semakin mengukuhkan UGM sebagai universitas riset kelas dunia.  

Berikut profil singkat kelima peneliti tersebut.

  1. Prof. Dr. Abdul Rohman, S.F., M.Si., Apt.
    Prof. Dr. Abdul Rohman, S.F., M.Si., Apt. merupakan Guru Besar di Fakultas Farmasi UGM. Gelar S-1 serta S-2 diperolehnya di Fakultas Farmasi UGM antara tahun 2002 hingga 2006. Sementara itu, gelar doktor diperoleh dari Institut Penyelidikan Produk Halal di Universiti Putra Malaysia dalam bidang Analisis Makanan Halal pada tahun 2011. Fokus penelitiannya yaitu analisis kehalalan produk dan autentikasi produk makanan dan produk farmasi. Keahlian ini membawanya memperoleh penghargaan Young Scientist Scopus award 2014, Anugerah Kekayaan Intelektual (KI) Luar Biasa dalam Bidang Publikasi Internasional dari Kemenristekdikti tahun 2014, serta dipercaya untuk memimpin Pusat Unggulan Ipteks PUI-PT IHIS UGM.
  2. Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Muh Aris Marfai, S.Si., M.Sc.
    Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Muh Aris Marfai, S.Si., M.Sc. merupakan Guru Besar bidang Geomorfologi Bencana Fakultas Geografi UGM. Gelar sarjana diperolehnya di Fakultas Geografi UGM tahun 1998 dan untuk gelar master diperolehnya setelah menyelesaikan studi di International Institute for Geo Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) Belanda pada tahun 2003. Sementara itu, gelar doktor diperoleh dari Justus-Liebig-Universitaet, Giessen, Germany pada tahun 2008. Minat dan keahliannya dalam bidang geomorfologi pesisir (coastal geomorphology) membawanya turut berperan dalam perumusan Rancangan Undang-Undang Landasan Kontinen yang bermaksud untuk memperluas batas landas kontinen Indonesia hingga 350 mil laut di bawah perjanjian UNCLOS hingga dipercaya untuk menjabat sebagai Kepala Badan Informasi Geospasial (BIG) sejak Januari 2021.
  3. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Maryudi, S.Hut., M.For.
    Prof. Dr. Ahmad Maryudi, S.Hut., M.For. merupakan Guru Besar di Fakultas Kehutanan UGM dengan keahlian berfokus pada kebijakan dan tata kelola kehutanan, khususnya yang terkait dengan aktor, kepentingan dan relasi kuasa. Gelar sarjana diperolehnya di UGM, sedangkan gelar master di bidang kebijakan kehutanan diperoleh setelah menyelesaikan studi di The Australian National University. Sementara itu, gelar doktor dalam bidang kebijakan pembangunan kehutanan diperolehnya dari Göttingen University. Berbagai penelitian dan publikasi tentang kebijakan dan tata kelola kehutanan, termasuk kebijakan hutan rakyat dan kehutanan sosial, membawanya dipercaya untuk membantu pemerintah Indonesia terutama pada saat negosiasi internasional terkait hutan dan lahan hingga menjabatan sebagai Deputy Coordinator Divisi Forest Policy & Economics di International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO).
  4. Prof. Drs. Sri Juari Santosa, M.Eng., Ph.D.
    Prof. Drs. Sri Juari Santosa, M.Eng., Ph.D. merupakan Guru Besar di Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (MIPA) UGM. Gelar sarjana diperoleh dari Fakultas MIPA UGM, sedangkan gelar master dan doktor diperolehnya setelah menyelesaikan studi di Keio University tahun 1993 dan 1997. Beliau menekuni bidang penelitian dengan minat cara penanggulangan pencemaran logam berat di lingkungan sekitar dan zat warna berbahaya dengan menggunakan adsorben sintetik maupun adsorben selektif yang berbasis pada bahan alam Indonesia. Keahliannya di bidang Green Synthesis and Application of material for valuable chemical Recovery and Environmental Remediation juga berhasil membawanya memperoleh penghargaan Hitachi Global Foundation Asia Innovation Award 2022 di Tokyo melalui penelitian dan inovasi berjudul Providing Safe Water Sources for Drinking and Domestic Uses through the Development and Implementation of an Adaptable and Reusable Hybrid Material-Based Removal Method.
  5. Prof. Dra. Wega Trisunaryanti, M.S., Ph.D.,Eng.
    Prof. Dra. Wega Trisunaryanti, M.S., Ph.D.,Eng. merupakan Guru Besar di Fakultas Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (MIPA) UGM. Gelar doktor diperolehnya setelah menyelesaikan studi di Osaka University, Japan, tahun 1997. Beliau menekuni bidang minat penelitian material, khususnya katalis dan adsorben (clay, zeolit, silika, alumina, karbon, dan MCM-41) untuk proses produksi bahan bakar. Aktif memublikasikan hasil penelitiannya baik pada seminar dan jurnal nasional maupun internasional terkait material katalis untuk konversi fraksi aspal Buton menjadi fraksi bahan bakar. Saat ini, sedang melaksanakan riset produksi Jet biofuel (bioavtur) dari CPO menggunakan reaktor sistem one-pot atmosferis.

The 4th ICoSIA 2023 Gelar Diskusi Ilmiah Bahas Ketahanan Pangan dalam Krisis Multidimensi Bersama Para Pakar Lintas Negara

Rangkaian kedua UGM Annual Scientific Conference (UASC) tahun 2023 mengundang para pakar bidang agrikultur dalam International Conference on Smart and Innovative Agriculture (ICoSIA 2023) keempat yang diselenggarakan pada 10–11 Oktober 2023 di Grand Ballroom Eastparc Hotel, Yogyakarta.

Sebagai representatif dari Rektor UGM, Prof. drg. Diatri Nari Ratih (Sekretaris Direktorat Penelitian UGM) dalam sambutan pembukaannya menyampaikan bahwa UGM melalui ICoSIA 2023 memainkan peran penting dalam menjaga komitmen untuk memelihara budaya intelektual. ICoSIA 2023 ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sumber inspirasi yang kuat bagi akademisi dan peneliti serta memotivasi para pakar untuk mencapai dampak yang lebih besar di bidang life sciences.

Ketua panitia ICoSIA 2023, Dr. Ir. Mohammad Zainal Abidin, S.Pt., M.Biotech., IPM., menyampaikan dalam sambutannya bahwa kegiatan ini merupakan forum global untuk keunggulan pertanian dengan berbagai keragaman perspektif dan pengalaman. Tantangan yang beragam dan terus berkembang dalam menghadapi krisis multidimensi, mendorong ketahanan pangan bukan hanya sebagai upaya mulia, tetapi juga vital bagi keberlangsungan hidup umat manusia. ICoSIA 2023 mengusung tema Food Security and Resilience in Multidimensional Crises” yang menggarisbawahi urgensi diskusi dari seluruh keynote speakers dan peserta. 

Pemaparan materi dan diskusi ilmiah pada  ICoSIA 2023 berlangsung menarik dengan hadirnya pembicara dari 6 negara, yaitu Prof. Rosnah Shamsudin (Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia), Dr. Shinichi Takashima Sobue (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, Jepang), Dr. Glenn Gregorio (Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture, Filipina), Dr. Anthony Young (The University of Queensland, Australia), Ahasanul Hoque (The World Bank, Bangladesh), dan Asst.Prof. Piyapong Tongdeenok (Kasetsart University, Thailand). 

ICoSIA 2023 diikuti oleh total 170 peserta yang berasal dari 11 negara, yaitu Indonesia, India, Hungaria, Australia, Korea Selatan, Thailand, Jepang, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Ethiopia, dan Filipina. Setelah melalui peninjauan yang ketat, terpilih 76 naskah dari 96 naskah yang terdaftar untuk dipresentasikan dalam tujuh simposium berbeda, yaitu 1) Agricultural Big Data Analysis Symposium, 2) Agricultural Geography Symposium, 3) Land and Environmental Management Symposium, 4) Precision Nutrition Technology Symposium, 5) Smart and Precision Farming Symposium, 6) Smart Genetics Resource Management and Utilization Symposium, dan 7) Sustainable Food Production Symposium. Selanjutnya, guna diseminasi melalui publikasi ilmiah dalam bentuk prosiding maka seluruh naskah yang dipresentasikan akan diterbitkan pada BIO Web of Conferences. Sebagai bentuk apresiasi bagi para peserta yang mempresentasikan artikelnya pada ICoSIA 2023, juga diberikan piagam penghargaan bagi best paper pada masing-masing kategori simposium. 

Direktur Penelitian UGM, Prof. Mirwan Ushada, S.T.P., M.App.Life.Sc., menutup acara ICoSIA 2023 dengan menyampaikan apresiasi kepada para invited speakers, moderator, peserta, panitia, dan seluruh pihak terkait yang telah bekerja keras dan penuh dedikasi dalam menyukseskan ICoSIA 2023.  Atas berlangsungnya ICoSIA 2023 telah terbangun diskusi ilmiah yang menarik yang diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi secara kolektif untuk mengatasi tantangan di bidang pertanian.

The 5th BioMIC Awali Rangkaian UGM Annual Scientific Conference (UASC) 2023: “Accelerating Translational Healthcare by Leveraging Big Data and Machine Learning”

Rangkaian pertama UGM Annual Scientific Conference (UASC) tahun 2023 diawali dengan terselenggaranya Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, and Biomedical Engineering (BioMIC 2023) untuk kali kelima pada 6-7 September 2023 bertempat di Grand Ballroom Eastparc Hotel, Yogyakarta. 

Pembicara dari berbagai negara hadir sebagai keynote speaker pada BioMIC 2023, di antaranya  Prof. Teruna J. Siahaan (Kansas University, United States), Prof. Min-Huei Hsu (Taipei Medical University, Taiwan), Assoc.Prof. Dr. Ardiyansyah Syahrom (University of Technology Malaysia, Malaysia), Prof. Hideki Enomoto (Kobe University, Japan), dan Dr. apt. Hilda Ismail (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia).

Konferensi dibuka oleh Rektor Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D., yang dalam sambutan pembukaannya menyampaikan bahwa penyelenggaraan BioMIC untuk tahun kelima dengan tema  “Accelerating translational healthcare by leveraging big data and machine learning” ini berhasil mempertemukan ide-ide cemerlang dari para pakar baik dari dalam maupun luar negeri serta memperkuat kolaborasi dan jejaring mitra internasional. Selain itu, melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan juga semakin meningkatkan publikasi UGM di tingkat global sehingga ilmu pengetahuan yang berkembang di UGM dapat terdiseminasi secara lebih luas. 

Prof. Dr. apt. Susi Ari Kristina, S.Farm., M.Kes. selaku Ketua BioMIC 2023 menyampaikan dalam sambutannya bahwa BioMIC 2023 menerima sebanyak 108 artikel yang berasal dari 8 negara, yaitu Indonesia, Thailand, Jepang, Malaysia, USA, Iraq, Maroko, dan Vietnam. Setelah melalui seleksi yang ketat, terpilih 66 artikel untuk dipresentasikan di lima simposium, yaitu: 1) Big Data for Public Health Policy symposium, 2) Bioinformatics and Data Mining symposium, 3) Biomedical Sciences and Engineering symposium, 4) Biomolecular and Biotechnology symposium, 5) Drug Development and Nutraceutical symposium. Sementara itu, untuk jumlah peserta non-presenter sebanyak 22 orang. 

Seluruh artikel yang dipresentasikan pada BioMIC 2023 akan diarahkan untuk dapat terbit pada berbagai jurnal dan prosiding bereputasi, di antaranya: BIO Web of Conferences, Medical Journal of Malaysia, Malaysian Journal of Medicine & Health Sciences,  Indonesian Biomedical Journal, Indonesian Journal of Pharmacy, Indonesian Journal of Biotechnology, Traditional Medicine Journal, dan Journal of Tropical Biodiversity and Biotechnology.

TOP 17 Artikel SDGs UGM dengan Sitasi Terbanyak di Scopus dalam 10 Tahun Terakhir

Publikasi UGM dengan sitasi terbanyak pada 17 subjek area SDGs di Scopus dalam 10 tahun terakhir per 14 September 2023 adalah sebagai berikut:

Wakil Rektor Bidang Penelitian dan Pengajaran, Prof. Dr. Wening Udasmoro, S.S., M.Hum., DEA., dalam sambutannya pada acara ‘Workshop penulisan rilis publikasi berwawasan SDGs’ Selasa, 13 September 2023 bertempat di ruang sidang Sidomukti Wisma MM UGM, menyampaikan bahwa ‘sitasi itu penting’. Senada dengan Prof. Wening, Prof. Indra Wijaya Kusuma, MBA, Ph,D., yang menjabat sebagai Kepala Satuan Penjaminan Mutu dan Reputasi Universitas sebagai salah satu narasumber juga menyampaikan bahwa “Sitasi itu menjadi salah satu indikator dalam perankingan perguruan tinggi, dan sitasi itu adalah hal yang alamiah serta tidak dapat dilakukan intervensi,“ ujar Indra Wijaya Kusuma.

Dalam kesempatan lain, Direktur Penelitian, Prof Mirwan Ushada memberikan apresiasi yang tinggi kepada penulis yang artikelnya memperoleh sitasi tertinggi. Artikel tersebut berjudul Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2): An overview of viral structure and host response dengan capaian sebesar 637 sitasi. Artikel yang terbit di jurnal Diabetes and Metabolic Syndrome: Clinical Research and Reviews ini ditulis oleh Dr. Med, dr. Indwiani Astuti dari Fakultas Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Masyarakat (FKKMK). “Selamat kepada Dr. Med, dr. Indwiani Astuti,“ tutur Prof. Mirwan.

Author Workshop for Graduate Student Series

Direktorat Penelitian UGM untuk kali pertama menyelenggarakan kegiatan ‘Author Workshop for Graduate Student Series’ pada Jumat 1 September 2023 untuk klaster Saintek dan Kesehatan bertempat di Ruang Multimedia II UGM. Acara ini bertujuan untuk (a) membantu mahasiswa pascasarjana dalam mengonversi tesis/disertasi menjadi karya ilmiah; (b) menstimulasi mahasiswa pascasarjana untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dalam penulisan publikasi ilmiah; dan c) meningkatkan budaya menulis mahasiswa pascasarjana. Acara dibuka oleh Kasubdit Publikasi dan Kekayaan Intelektual Direktorat Penelitian UGM, Ratih Fitria Putri, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. yang dalam sambutannya menyampaikan bahwa acara ini menjadi salah satu upaya dalam meningkatkan publikasi ilmiah mahasiswa bersama dosen pembimbing melalui konversi tugas akhir sehingga diharapkan dapat berdampak pada peningkatan capaian kinerja universitas.

Dr. Eng. Ir. Titis Wijayanto, ST., M.Des., IPM., ASEAN Eng hadir sebagai narasumber untuk series pertama, yaitu bidang saintek dan kesehatan. Dalam pemaparannya disampaikan bahwa tantang terbesar dalam mengonversi tugas akhir menjadi artikel ilmiah yang akan dipublikasikan di jurnal yaitu memformat ulang dan mengemas informasi hasil penelitian menjadi lebih ringkas namun tetap informatif. Berbagai kiat publikasi ke jurnal ilmiah yang disampaikan semakin meningkatkan minat dan semengat peserta. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari antusiasme peserta yang bertanya dan berdiskusi dengan dipandu moderator yaitu Dr. M. Zainal Abidin, S.Pt., M.Biotech. Sebanyak 37 peserta hadir secara luring sementara 140 peserta lain mengikuti jalannya acara secara daring melalui ZOOM Meeting. Pada akhir acara, Kasubdit Publikasi Ilmiah dan Kekayaan Intelektual Direktorat Penelitian UGM menutup acara dengan menyosialisasikan berbagai program layanan dan bantuan yang diselenggarakan oleh Direktorat Penelitian UGM dalam rangka mendukung peningkatan publikasi ilmiah civitas akademika UGM.  Rangkaian berikutnya dari series kegiatan ini akan dilaksanakan pada 14 September 2023 dengan peserta dari klaster Agro dan Sosial Humaniora.

100 Author UGM di Scopus dengan h-index Tertinggi

Indeks-h/h-index adalah ukuran yang digunakan untuk menilai pengaruh hasil penelitian ilmuwan yang dipublikasikan sesuai bidang keahliannya. Ukuran ini dipengaruhi oleh dua faktor, yaitu jumlah tulisan ilmiah yang dipublikasikan dan seberapa banyak publikasi tersebut disitasi oleh peneliti lain. Hal ini dapat dianggap sebagai titik temu produktivitas publikasi ilmiah dan kuantitas  penggunaan karya pada publikasi ilmiah ilmuwan lain. Artinya, semakin tinggi nilai h-index, semakin besar juga pengaruh akademik seorang dosen/peneliti.

h-index juga berfungsi sebagai alat untuk mengukur pengaruh dan dampak tulisan ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh dosen/peneliti. Oleh karena itu, dosen/peneliti akan berusaha meningkatkan nilai h-index dengan berbagai cara di antaranya dengan meningkatkan jumlah sitasi karya ilmiah yang telah dipublikasikan dan berkolaborasi dengan peneliti lain dalam menghasilkan publikasi baru. Kedua cara ini dipandang cukup efektif dalam mendongkrak nilai h-index.  Berdasarkan data dari Scopus per 28 Agustus  2023,  data 100 author  UGM dengan urutan h-index tertinggi adalah  sebagai berikut,
