Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) achieved national recognition awarded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. Two scientists from Universitas Gadjah Mada were honored with prestigious awards at the 2025 Diktisaintek Awards, an annual accolade presented by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology to outstanding scientists, researchers, and higher education institutions for their contributions to innovation and the strengthening of Indonesia’s national research ecosystem.
The Diktisaintek Awards is held as a form of appreciation for the contributions of academics and higher education institutions to the advancement of science and technology. The awards are presented in two main fields, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Social Sciences and Humanities, with each field further categorized into Senior Scientist and Young Scientist groups.
At the 2025 Diktisaintek Awards, Prof. drg. Ika Dewi Ana, M.Kes., Ph.D., lecturer of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada, received the Second Best Award in the Senior Scientist category for the STEM field. Meanwhile, Fitri Amalia, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., lecturer of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada, was awarded First Best in the Young Scientist category for the Social Sciences and Humanities field. These achievements reaffirm national recognition of UGM’s research excellence and underscore the university’s reputation as an institution with high-quality research, strengthening the confidence of national and international academic communities while expanding opportunities for collaborative research and partnerships.
The award ceremony for the Diktisaintek Awards 2025 was held on 19 December 2025 in Jakarta. Besides serving as recognition of academic excellence, the Diktisaintek Awards are expected to foster healthy competition and motivate scientists to produce innovative research with broad impact at both national and international levels.
This achievement stands as tangible evidence of the strong performance and accomplishments of Universitas Gadjah Mada researchers in producing excellent and impactful research. These contributions are expected not only to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but also to inspire the academic community, young researchers, and various stakeholders to continue innovating and contributing to the advancement of science, society, and sustainable development.
