Universitas Gadjah Mada reaffirms its commitment to fostering a strong research culture and advancing the dissemination of knowledge through the UGM Research and Publication Awards 2025. This annual event serves as an important platform to recognize lecturers and researchers who have demonstrated dedication to research, produced high-quality scholarly work, and made tangible contributions to the advancement of knowledge and the resolution of national challenges. The entire selection process for the UGM Research and Publication Awards 2025 is conducted under the coordination of the Directorate of Research, ensuring that all nominated works undergo a rigorous, credible, and integrity-driven review process.
The awards are categorized into two main streams: the Collaborative Research Category and the Scientific Publication Category. Each category highlights five national strategic (flagship) themes that reflect UGM’s commitment to addressing global challenges while contributing to national development. The themes include Food Sovereignty; Independence in Pharmaceutical Raw Materials and Medical Devices; Energy Transition; Climate Change and Environmental Adaptation; and Socio-Cultural Resilience.

The awards were presented during the “UGM Award Night for Outstanding Individuals 2025,” held on Tuesday, 9 December 2025, at Grha Sabha Pramana, Universitas Gadjah Mada. The event formed part of the celebrations marking UGM’s 76th Anniversary, commemorating not only the university’s long-standing history but also the dedication and remarkable achievements of its academic community. These awards are expected to serve as a catalyst for the entire UGM community to continuously produce innovative, collaborative, and impactful research and publications that address national development priorities and global challenges.
